Some people are born with all the privileges a person could only dream of; the perfect family, a pretty face, wealth, charming personality, soulmate-like best friends, and the perfect boyfriend. Some of those people think because they're born into such amazing life, they deserve all that. As a girl who wasn't born into such a perfect life, I learnt that nobody deserves anything that we have now. The poor on the streets, they do not deserve such a miserable life as we don't deserve ours. I'm proud to say that all the imperfections in my life have taught me so many important lessons that some other people are blinded by wealth that they might never learn them.

I am thankful for everything I have now, although my life not perfect and I would definitely fix things a little bit here and there. It's workable, I believe. I can't be happier to be born as me. And I owe it to every single person in my life.

I'm not sure if it is only in the movies, but some girls lavishly shop for clothes they would only wear once. Twice is a no go. I definitely am not that type as on the contrary, the only clothes I would shop are those I can wear a gazillion times! It's a challenge to wear an item in many different ways and not look boring, isn't it?

Though I'm speaking generally, this tank top is a particular example. Still remember how I wore this "muddy tank" with shorts? To a blogger meet-up last week, I put it on over a light brown maxi dress and belted it to accentuate my hips and lengthen my legs.

I'm not in any way ashamed, in fact I'm so proud that I might as well begin counting how many styles I can come up with for the same item. Haha, forgive me for being dramatic, but I can conclude that the more versatile an item is, the better buy it is!

Being stylish is about channeling your personality out through your clothes. For an old-fashioned girl like me, sometimes that only requires a ruffle-y tank top, leggings, an excellent pair of pumps, and some topping off accessories. Just the perfect day to wear my H&M necklace I bought during my Europe trip a few months ago. It's pink but it has this geometry-like design that makes it both girly and edgy.

Oh yes I'm classic that way. To me a girl's must haves are a flattering top, black legs-lengthening tights/leggings, a classy flaunty skirt, some jewelries, and a confidence-boosting pair of heels. Fashion is a girl's best friends like dogs are men's. BUT, the one rule that I always tell myself (even when I'm all grown up and beginning to have wrinkles on my face), one's confidence and self-respect must sparkle shinier than all the diamonds one wears.

WHERE IS THE LOVE?

It was hard for me to decide what to wear on Chinese New Year's day, but I finally pulled this off. My parents don't really make me wear red anymore, I have the liberty to choose my own color so long as it's bright. I decided to go retro with my backless dress and vintage scarf worn as headband. The dress is grey and shady but the light pink accessories does the trick.

My sister was recently pranked into believing that I fell off the stairs and suffered a lethal crack in my skull. It's weird how the prankster knew exactly when to call my sister, because every Tuesday morning my class is held in a room with no reception, therefore my family could not reach me to confirm. Good thing we were not fooled into transferring money or other motives they might have had.

It's really sad how horrifying the world has become, I must say. Yesterday I had to research about human rights violations around the world and the cases I came across were truly heartbreaking. It really opened my eyes on how fortunate I am to have been born in such a wonderful family and live a wonderful life. I hope this writing can remind you of how blessed we are and how important it is to share - let the less fortunates feel a glimpse of the joy we are privileged with everyday.

As I'm writing this I'm sitting on my bed, putting up with my itchy runny nose, accompanied by my laptop, blackberry, and a box of tissue. It bugs me how I am very susceptible to flu, and the fact that it was raining so hard does not help at all. While enjoying my laptop's company, I came across another group of unpublished photos which I took a while ago.

Lately my basic staple purchase comprises a lot of stripes, and I'm quite comfortable with the combination of thin stripes of the top and bigger ones of the bandage skirt. Plus, the skirt is made of light fabric thus it compliments my curve-less figure perfectly! I would wear this outfit to a day out with girlfriends and coffee/tea, I think.

Some days I like looking hippie, some other days I channel the girly soul in me. When I go shopping, I always set eyes on hippie jewelries and light clothing which compliments feminine beauty. I was ransacking the sale rack the other day when I discovered the floral skirt. The floral pattern and color palette are admittedly not new, I've seen ones similar to this, but I just felt like I had to get this one for three reasons: it's so pretty, it compliments my skin tone, and it's timeless.

The other day I helped a friend with her assignment by being a respondent to a group discussion regarding consumerism. The questions asked got me thinking about my recent crazy desire of shopping, yes I made quite a lot of purchases this holiday. I've got a big stack of newly purchased clothes that I haven't worn and cannot wait to wear. I must admit, having more stuffs in my closet makes me happy! But when school starts next week this shopping madness has got to stop. It's a good thing that I am into vintage pieces and thrift shopping, so even though I am not going to shop as much, I will have just as many pieces of clothing to make me happy.

I was going through a folder in which I put all my outfit photos in the last year, and came across several photos that were yet to be published, barely edited. The dress I wore in the pictures was one of my favorite light dresses, with black cat prints all over it. Since I'm still deciding what to wear for New Year's eve, I'll show you these instead.

Speaking of New Year's eve, I remember last year I spent the last hours of 2010 having barbecue party with my best friends. Initially there were only eight of us but more people started coming over, it was crazy. We even decided to jump to another barbecue another friend was hosting, mostly my old friends were there so we got the chance to catch up and rekindled neglected relationships that have been blooming until now.

Anyway, these pics seem like they were taken months ago when I was still so in love with pastel hues. Now I'm more into something bolder, more statement-making.

My family wasn't usually big on Christmas, so this year's was exceptionally memorable. We had gifts under the tree, pretty festive decorations, and the whole day seized. The most well spent Christmas day is one spent with people you most love.

I discovered an old pair of blood red wedges the other day, they're one of my first shoe purchases (bought them with my 3-weeks savings)! I totally regained my love for the lovely bows! They came in handy when I decided to wear this little purple dress for Christmas too. Plus, the low wedges turned out to be a huge help for my tired feet at the end of Christmas shopping spree.

Anyway, I am completely in love with this dress from my latest sponsor, Kiwi Wardrobe (Facebook / Twitter). Choosing only one item was not easy because all of their stuffs are super lovely! I remember my boyfriend once said to me: "When we go out I like to see you girly and sexy, when you're out with your friends then you can be more conservative." That day we were having dinner and I wore a dark green button up shirt with beige maxi skirt. Must admit, I did look like an old-fashioned teacher.. but as far as style-exploring goes, I liked it! But since D's taste is more towards a lady-like look, this is what I pulled off on our next (double) date.

Lately I find myself drawn towards bright hues, be it pastel or bold. It was generous of my sister to leave this summer dress while she's off to China, I remixed it with some stuffs from different times - brown oversized cardigan from last August, woven shoes from last year, and graphic necklace from three years ago.

This is why I double (even triple) check the stuffs I want to donate (or sell) each year, I believe that whether or not something is out of date depends on how you see it. Every single thing has its beauty, you can only see it if you believe it. I know I know, I just made myself sound so dreamy and imaginarily magical and all.. if only I could put that thought into better, un-corny words.

Simply put, some old pieces do deserve a better home, some others are future treasures.

Boho Crochet

Finally finished my finals, now I can bounce back to blogging more often!

Last month, in the effort of keeping the pressure and intensity of final exams low, I ended up shopping a lot more than I budgeted myself. It was worth it though, I loved everything that I bought. One of them is this boho top I purchased from Zara in discounted price. The blouse has beautiful little crochets on the chest and is perfectly loose, so Alexa Chung inspired.

Can't wait to share the rest of my treasures with you!

I downloaded Christmas songs last week, they really have been such a pleasant company. They bring me back to the most memorable Christmas I spent in Disneyland, Japan, when I was 11. My all time favorite Christmas song is 'Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas'. What's yours?

Sweet Something

It's official, I will never get over leg-baring shorts/skirts. It might have something to do with the fact that I'm curveless, because it's true what they say, if there is a rule in fashion, always dress in a way that compliments your body.

December is my second favorite month of a year (after March - my birth month) and everybody knows why.. it's Christmas time! As Justin Bieber puts it, it's the most wonderful time of the year. I can't agree more. Stepping into December, I can already feel joy and love permeating every places I go and every person I pass by (no exaggeration). Am I weird? To me, Christmas is unlike any other holiday, Christmas is magical.

My family cancelled all plans of traveling abroad in celebration of Christmas this year and decided to stay in town. Guess I'll be jealous of everyone else's Christmas plans! But looking on the bright side, spending holiday in town gives me more time for self-indulgents, family gatherings, or perhaps bloggers meet up? So if you are having zero plans for Christmas this year, give me a buzz and we can make up Christmas plans together. :)

Semi-Winter Florals

It's never winter in Indonesia, but we do have cold rainy days. In such times I love pulling off semi-winter looks, especially sweaters and stockings, turning my back on the weird looks and gossiping mouths. Of course, Jakarta can never run out of sunshine and day heat, so rolling your sleeves up is always a good idea.

These are pictures of a Sunday outfit I wore to a family brunch few weeks ago, when it was raining and gloomy. Ah I know, I took too many photos of the wedges... I can't help adoring them so much!

Turquoise Lady

My love for this turquoise shirt has not even for the slightest bit degraded despite how long since I bought it nor how many times I've worn it. In fact it has become my go-to top, and I think it's because of the looseness (tuck it into shorts, let it loose, belt it, all is a go!) and the vibrant fresh color that goes with anything. Even with my treasured tribal necklace! Last week I polished my nails purple, and I loved it much more than I thought I would.

Breather for Bee

If there is one thing I learnt from taking 24 credits this semester and having to complete many assignments in short time (be it school work or magazine deadline), it's to embrace the relaxed days. I have been missing out on get-togethers, I have not been attending events I'm utterly excited for, I have even been falling behind movies! Am I happy? Not for the three downsides above, but yes I do find major delights and pleasure on the days that I can afford to slack around a bit.

This is another quickly pulled outfit from a few days back. I decided to wear the polkadot cropped shirt which is actually oversized for me, but pairing it with an oversized salmon outerwear does the trick. My big slouchy Zara bag has been the best company as lately I feel the need to carry more stuffs around. Oh, I have also grown fonder of medium length necklaces. Tips not to underdress your laid-back outfit: wear thick heeled shoes.

I love, however, that in the midst of gloomy busy days, I am every now and then recharged by little things that perk me up. Like a light I-love-you text from my boyfriend, a complimentary tweet from a reader, or a flattering email from potential sponsor or other bloggers.

Fleurs D'automne

Shorts and skirts were my indispensable essentials at the beginning of the year, now as the year advances towards its end I grew fonder of maxis (though shorts will always have a place in my heart, period). Good thing that I have been investing in maxi skirts and dresses since long ago. This floral dress is a hand-down, my mom always has the best clothes to pass on! Wore this outfit to a Saturday movie date with my brother. I just love the little black belt accent!

Speaking of passing on clothes, I came up with a pile of clothes which do not fit my size, despite my adoration which made me purchase them anyway. Now that they are no longer or never at all worn, I feel bad because they deserve better homes :( You are welcome to drop by my shop and take your favorite home for adoption!

Think about how time flies. Think about how your sweet seventeen party seemed like only last year, but you're 20 already. Think about how you graduated and became freshmen last year, and you're almost graduating university. Think about how New Year was 2 months ago... and now we're at the end of another year already.

You know how when you want something to finish asap, it feels like forever.. but when you're enjoying every second of something, it reaches the end very soon? Time flies because I've been waking up to good days and series of happy events therein that life seems to be going so fast. I feel so blessed to have an intimately cherished family, blossoming new friendships and rekindled old ones, a perfect boyfriend who puts me first all the time, and among all things.. a personal blog to share my passion out loud and which any person out there can hopefully find inspirations from.

I know it's too early for a Thanksgiving post, but... we shall not confine giving thanks to only one day in a year, no?

These pictures were taken a while back, featuring a plump little niece of mine. I gifted her a pretty baby headband because she is just cutely coquettish and loves pretty little accessories. My latest sponsor, .CANDYBUTTON. , appears to be a maestro in this as they provide variant designs that will make you go, "Aww.. this is cute. That one too. Oh and this.. and that."

You would notice some other adult headbands too, one of which I wore to top off an outfit. The big petals with pastel colors caught my at first sight. I had it customized to a color of my own choice and am very satisfied with how expectedly sweet the pastel pink flower would prettify one's hair.

The black headband is rather high-class vintage, I would imagine it as worn by socialites from the 90's while going to an opera, do you agree? The last enchanting accessory was the chain charm bracelet I had customized to my super small wrist size.

This year's Halloween was particularly spooky to me.. Instead of playing dress up and going out, I had to deal with a crazy pile of homework, all of which due on October 31st. A gloomy day indeed, but I gotta say November feels like such an uphill with much less work to do.

I bought the broken white outerwear a couple weeks ago as the gypsyish sense made me fall in love. Wore it as to complete the outfit with similar tone top and brown safari shorts plus my peacock necklace, and a recently purchased headband. Love!

Now here's the exciting part, I promised to announce the winner to my H&M giveaway! I was overwhelmed by the number of participants.. unfortunately I could only pick one.

Despite the deadlines of school assignments and other projects I'm working on,

I've been feeling quite unburdened lately.

Not in an irresponsible sense, I still finish my assignments on time

but I feel happy doing them. Am I weird? I'm officially a book worm.

I suppose it's because my heart is in a happy place right now. I eat right, love much, and laugh enough.

While I was reorganizing my closet, I found this crayon red H&M shirt.

The size tag disappointed me until I decided to give it a try anyway and I love how uniquely baggy it is.

I am always jealous of girls with curves.. but being thin and 'curveless' does have its perks.

(I still want some curves, though)

Currently I'm working on reconstructing the blog a little bit.

There isn't going to be many changes, though a little primping up never hurts ;)

Just Another Weekend

I travel to another city for school every Sunday and drive back home every beginning of weekend.

The workload I have during weekdays makes me look forward to weekend everyday,

it just feels good to be home.

Though on weekends I don't always have all the time in the world to stay home and relax.

Often I have to run errands, for which I need to pull out a chic yet comfortable outfit.

That being said, my style is rather eclectic, hippie, and effortless.

This H&M dress stole my heart with the eye-freshening color, unique pattern, and light fabric.

There's nothing like a new bandage skirt :) the color combination just flatters me.

Midterm is coming up, I practically spent the whole Saturday working on school assignments. I decided that I needed to reward myself by going to a nice, intimate dinner with my family. Stayed up a bit late too doing some magazine work... I need to be so productive this week!

My recent playlist comprises mostly trance/house pieces, beats with emotion that have no lyrics so that my mind doesn't sing along instead of focusing on the work that has to be done. I've grown addicted to Swedish House Mafia, but I'm listening a lot of Afrojack and Avicii too.

My 7 months anniversary with D is coming up soon, can't wait <3

Went on a super awesome Europe trip, I wish I could share ALL the pics with you guys!

The family definitely had a great time, I immediately fell in love with European architecture, food, and people. The journey started from Rome - Vatican - Venice - Milan - Switzerland - Paris - Belgium - Amsterdam. I desperately wish we had gone to London :(

I've had these days..

I learned that, despite how lively a day out will always be - believe it or not,

Maybe it's just me. But one deserves a super lazy day every once in a while to recharge.

Things that happened recently have been teaching me one thing:

be grateful for whoever you are and whatever you have

You may not be the richest kid in the world, or the prettiest/skinniest girl at school, or the smartest one among your friends. You might have tons of assignments, or parents who restrict you as if you were still a little child, or the tightest schedule that doesn't leave you space to socialize. Some things in your life might suck, but that happens to everyone. Even the luckiest person you could possibly think of have something in their life that sucks. Here's a newsflash, you have so much more to be thankful for. So rather than envying other people, it's a much better use of your life to make people look up to your positivity.

This is something quite overrated - everyone knows but only a little has done.

I challenge you to come up with a million things you're grateful for.. and be a better person. :)

Last Friday was damn tiring, a meeting ended at 6

A set of photos I took the other day, wearing a floral dress from Zara.

The fact that it's backless makes it more appropriate for formal events..

so I experimented to wear a denim vest which matches the color palette.

Just because it's backless doesn't mean you have to always bare your back wearing it.

Sometimes you could wear it with something else so that the formal night out dress could be properly worn in daytime without looking too much.

Family dinners have always been my one of my favorite things to look forward to.

The New Year's dinner was particularly merry, this is what I wore.

The errands I had to run today would've otherwise been easily completed if the rain hadn't poured for so long. Picked up my mom and went to the saloon (I finally had my bangs properly cut!), and grabbed some things from the supermarket. Had to stay warm!

I was initially looking for a bodycon dress when instead I discovered this beautiful vintage-looking dress. I love everything about it; the color palette, the way it fits, except for one thing..

My fear of dots (trypophobia) makes it impossible for me to survive wearing this dress for more than 3 minutes :(

So I decided to give this pretty dress away.. to a lucky fellow blogger!

It's BRAND NEW (it still even has the tag on!)

Fits all sizes, but most suitable for Small or Medium sized girls.

My height's 163 cm and it falls right on the knees on me.

My Christmas wasn't much of what you'd call festive, but indeed joyful and merry at heart.

Visited the church in the morning, and had a little open house at my place.

The house was loaded with Christmas bliss :)

It's nearly Christmas! And it's Christmas holiday everywhere, the perfect time to get together with old friends you don't get to see often during regular days. At least that's what my holiday this time is all about, I just hope to meet up with eeeeeeveryone!

All the long catch-up talks and stupid jokes while hanging out in a coffee shop,

or the gossips and shopping fiesta with the girls,

or culinary trip or karaoke with all the guys,

this holiday is about wearing something comfortable to spend all day in.

wearing vintage knitted sweater, Gaudi destroyed shorts, suede drawstring bag by Mango, and mary janes by Marie Claire.

One more thing, thank you readers for the Christmas present: I got to 500 subscribers today!

YAY-ness. For some the number's not even worth mentioning, but I'm awfully content :')

Went to see The Chronicles of Narnia today.

Watching it in 3D doesn't help the fact that it was actually disappointing.
